I have been a Spey fisherman for many years now. I am a professionally sponsored fly fisher thanks to the photography that has illustrated this great sports exploits. The demands of being a hunter on the water means you endure a lot of the elements. You want every piece of equipment to give you confidence. I've used every type of fly. Many flies are simply eye candy. Paul's flies are unequivocally the most artistic, functional, durable, and effective. In order for them to survive the brutality of not just the Spey rod cast but the repeated slams from large fish jaws, rocks, water fauna, and fast flowing water they have to be tough as nails. Paul and I became fast friends as he is very professional and personable. The first delivery of his flies from half way around the world, had me lay each one out on my table like they were precious jewelry from some kind of heist. I inspected each of them with detail and excitement wondering what they might yield. The renown flies of the Pacific North West don't compare in materials, durability, or fishing properties and often cost more Paul responds quickly and always invites discussion on what my expectations are so he can meet them. You really couldn't ask for more for custom flies and I have compared them all.
